Ashlyn Webb (1st Grade Teacher)
Ashlyn Webb grew up in Clovis, CA after moving from Southern California with her family at the age of 9. From an early age, age knew she wanted to be a teacher. She received her Bachelor's degree and teaching credential from Fresno State before moving to Seattle, WA for three years. Ashlyn is thrilled to be a Tarpey Spartan for her third year of teaching. She is passionate about helping students grow and giving them a lifetime love of learning!
Ashlyn and her husband, Matt, have been married for eight years. They enjoy getting up to the mountains to camp and hike as often as possible and playing with their dog Luna.Amanda Araim (4th Grade Teacher)
Hi, my name is Amanda Araim and I am very excited to be apart of the Tarpey Team. I have been teaching for 5 years. The 5 years of my teaching career have been spent working in Madera where I taught both 5th and 2nd grades. I am starting my 6th year here at Tarpey enriching the lives of the incoming 4th graders.
Besides teaching in the classroom, I have a strong passion for exercise, traveling, and spending time with my friends, family and of course my dog Sawyer.
I am beyond thrilled to be working with the Spartan Community in helping you and your child reach your educational goals. Jennifer Ball (RSP Teacher)
My name is Jennifer Ball. This will be my first year teaching. I just completed my Dual credential in multiple subject and special education. I grew up in Clovis and went from Mickey Cox elementary to Clark then graduated from Clovis High. I have done all of my student teaching in Clovis Unified and I believe that all students can learn. Students have the means to be successful as long as they are given the right tools to do so. Some personal things about me I am a mother of one lovely daughter that is 2 years old. On my free time I like to eat junk food and just spend time with my family. I'm excited for my first year at Tarpey. I hope that your child comes home from my classroom excited to tell you all about what they learned!
Lana Kennedy (Program for the Acquisition of Language and Social Skills (PALS) Teacher)
My name is Lana Kennedy. I was born in Ukraine and my family moved to Fresno when I was 5. After graduating from Clovis High, I received my bachelor’s degree in Communicative Disorders from Fresno State and am currently working on my credential at Fresno Pacific University. My husband and I have been married since November 2015. I am passionate about teaching and advocating for individuals with special needs. I believe that every child can learn and it is important to provide them with the appropriate tools to reach their maximum potential. I am so thankful and excited to be a part of the Tarpey family. Hello, Tarpey family! I grew up here in Clovis and graduated from Buchanan in 2007. I then attended University of Washington in Seattle where I studied Communication/Political Science and ran cross country and track. After I graduated I began coaching at Arizona State University while working toward my Master’s degree in Education. I finally found my way back home to Clovis and have been working in the district since 2013. My husband, Seth, and I have a daughter who was born last September and keeps on our toes! We also have a Doberman named Titus who is her best friend. I am so excited for this school year and to help our students do some amazing things with technology! Suja George (Psychologist)
Suja received her school psychology credential from Fresno Pacific University, where she also taught classes as an adjunct faculty in the School of Education. Prior to receiving her credential, she taught psychology courses for eight years at a community college and helped develop a student success program for at-risk college students. Before entering the field of education, she worked as the Program and Policy Specialist at the Illinois Bureau on Domestic Violence where she wrote grants, coordinated, and managed state-wide and nationally funded projects focusing on violence prevention and intervention. In addition, she created a state-wide committee addressing the needs of ethnic minority women experiencing domestic violence. Suja received her doctorate degree in Human and Community Development from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign. Currently, she lives in Clovis with her husband, two children, and two cats.Stephan Plevney (Student Relations Liaison)
Stephan Plevney is a Palmdale, California native. He moved to the city of Fresno in 2009 where he attended and earned his bachelor’s degree at California State University, Fresno. Stephan played for the Fresno football team for four years while he attended college. After gaining his bachelor’s degree in Criminology in 2013, he began working with at risk youth and minors in the foster care system. Over the course of the next five years he developed an unexpected passion for working with youths. He was first introduced to Clovis Unified through his previous employer. While working he was impressed with the passion shown by the staff members over the multiple schools throughout Clovis Unified. He looks forward to the upcoming school year at Tarpey!
