Tarpey was back to school Tuesday for the new year with an assembly for Wild About Reading. Parker and his crew had a great presentation, ending with the challenge to read 10 books in 5 weeks, fill out the bookmark with the 10 titles, return the bookmark to the library by 2/15/17. Then each bookmark will receive a voucher for 2 free tickets to the Fresno Grizzlie game April 9th at 1:05pm. Bring the bookmark (yes, it will be returned to the student) to the game and also get a free prize!

Tarpey Library is introducing Makerspace. To describe simply, makerspace is community centers with tools. Makerspaces combine manufacturing equipment, community, and education for the purposes of enabling community members (students) to design, prototype and create manufactured works that wouldn’t be possible to create with the resources available to individuals working alone. This month students have the space and materials to read about Chinese New Year, the tools to create and decorate their own lanterns.

Hello everyone... I wanted to let you know about an exciting enrichment program that ASES will be participating in next Wednesday, April 20th...
We will have the SAM Academy here, giving all of the students an opportunity to work through several science stations, where they will have the opportunity to build things, fire off some rockets, and who knows what else!
We will have a large mobile classroom near the back portables (29/30), as well as using many of the ASES classrooms and grass areas (rockets, anyone?!)
I am told that this will be the focus for our entire program that day... four hours of science, every child’s dream afternoon .
Thank you for the support you give to our ASES program, our students, and the Tarpey community.
