As we close out another remarkable school year at Tarpey Elementary, I am filled with pride and gratitude for the incredible spirit, growth, and accomplishments we have experienced together. Our students, staff, and families have made this year one to remember!
More than ever, we were Building on the Legacy, a legacy of excellence, character, and community that has defined Tarpey for generations. Every achievement, every act of kindness, and every step forward added to the strong foundation that makes our school truly special.
Tarpey continues to be recognized for excellence, receiving the Bonner Character Award, the Green Shield Award for our commitment to the Positivity Project (P2), and earning the distinction of being a Digital Citizenship Certified School. We were honored to celebrate one of our exceptional teachers who received a Crystal Award, another who was named a finalist for the California League of Educators, and I was humbled to be recognized as Fresno County’s Administrator of the Year. Each of these honors is a reflection of the dedication and excellence of our entire school community.
Academically, our students have shown tremendous growth in English Language Arts, and our teachers have been intentional and focused, working in small groups to support students in building math skills. We are especially proud to celebrate some of our English Learners who reached a significant milestone through reclassification, an incredible accomplishment.
Our co-curricular programs have also shined. Oral Interpretation earned a Superior rating, and both our Band and Orchestra were recognized with the CLASSI Award for their outstanding performance on the fundamental skills test. Our spring production of WONKA was nothing short of amazing, truly a one-of-a-kind performance that showcased the incredible talent and creativity of our students and staff.
From start to finish, the year was filled with celebration and strong community spirit. We kicked off the year by surpassing our fall fundraiser goals. Thank you to our amazing families and community for your support. Our PTC went above and beyond, hosting meaningful events like the Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dances and enhancing our campus with beautiful new benches for our shaded structure.
At Tarpey, we do not just learn. We lead, perform, and grow together. The heart of our school is built on character, connection, and pride. Our students continue to RISE the Spartan Way, showing Responsibility, Integrity, Self-Control, and Excellence in all they do. Spartan Pride runs deep at Tarpey, and it shows in every hallway, every classroom, and every success story.
As we look to the future, we will continue to build on this legacy, honoring our traditions while embracing new opportunities to grow.
Go Spartans!
Sincerely,
Principal
